Students create functional and sculptural works of art in clay utilizing the processes of hand building with molds, coils, and slabs, with extended decorative techniques. Advanced classes starting at the 3rd grade learn to throw on a pottery wheel as well. Careful consideration of forms, designs, and uses, along with excellent craftsmanship are emphasized. Students learn the full process from working with wet clay, applying texture, and applying color.
